Welcome to the
Wilmington Youth Soccer League!
WYSL program is an extension of the Boys & Girls Club of LA Harbor, dedicated to promoting inclusiveness and accessibility for all kids in the community. Thus we are reaching out to the community of Wilmington, California and its surrounding cities to bring more children into the world of soccer, providing them with the opportunity to experience the joy and excitement of this sport for the first time. We believe that sports can be a transformative experience, and create lifelong friendships. Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background or experience, has the chance to participate and flourish in the world of soccer. Together, let's build a stronger, more inclusive community through the universal language of soccer!
Welcome to Wilmington Youth Soccer League “WYSL”, Wilmington’s first ever soccer league. Our league’s mission is to create a nurturing environment that fosters the growth and development of young talents in the exciting and tactical game of soccer. Through our league, we aim to
instill valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while providing a platform for aspiring athletes to showcase their abilities. We are committed to promoting fair play, sports health/nutrition, and a
passion for the sport. The league is here to shape the athletes' developmental soccer skills as well social-emotional skills, knowledge that they will take with them throughout their lives.
ABOUT US
Our goal is to ensure that players have fun first.
We help them develop healthy bodies, positive attitudes, knowledge of team play, and socialization skills. Winning and losing are not the measures of our success; our interest is in developing the child’s long-range love of the sport.
Coaches will help children to gain self-confidence, increase their talents, and expand their athletic boundaries while correcting the player’s errors in a positive way. Coaches will ensure that kids enjoy the experience of playing recreational soccer.
The efforts and energies of our volunteers are directed to the following objectives:

Making sure the kids have fun playing the game, teaching them courtesy, respect for authority, and to play the game with dignity and good sportsmanship.

Developing players so they can play at various levels (recreational and travel) by building and improving their skills, confidence, fitness, initiative, and sense of teamwork.
